Family of ‘Newcastle mad’ Bobby Swinney who died outside St James’ Park raise £1,000 in his memory
The family of a “devoted Newcastle supporter” who died outside St James’ Park are raising funds for a charity close to his heart in the wake of his unexpected death.
Bobby Swinney, who was a “friendly, football-mad” family man, collapsed suddenly on his way to watch NUFC on December 19, aged 67.
Police officers and paramedics performed CPR on him near the Gallowgate steps, but ultimately Bobby’s life could not be saved, and his loving family have now raised more than £1,000 for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation in his memory.
